First Friday: August 3rd, 2012

This coming Friday is once again a First Friday here in downtown Florence.  We are not the only city that holds a First Friday event/street party, complete with vendors, bands, dancing and loads of fun and if you are reading this from out of town, I bet we can offer you something unique.   We can offer you southern hospitality, sweet tea, southern drawls (now ain’t that a hoot), belly dancing (performed by a group we know and love, the Rainbow Dancers), live steel demonstrations (real sword fights by the Zholdak Kozaky) and  when I say dancing I do not mean the type of dancing you are used to.  I am talking about Medieval/Renaissance dancing (performed by representatives of our very own Roundtable along with public participation).  The Roundtable committee will be manning a table/booth with information about the Feast and Faire and selling posters from years past!  So, come on out and join us this Friday on Court Street in Downtown Florence, across the street from Grogan Jewelers and  right in front of the Jos. A Banks store (the old Rogers building).
