Design the Official

Poster of the

Alabama Renaissance

Faire 2009.

 

1.   The design should reflect the Medieval/Renaissance era.

 

2.   A vertical format 18" x 24" in a two, three, or four color scheme.

 

3.   The artist should submit full-size color comprehensive layout on rigid board. Artists who design their entries on computer may submit a reduced version of their artwork while maintaining the 18" x 24" proportions.  Artwork

will be screenprinted on posters and concession items such as t-shirts.

 

4.   All entries are due by May 15, 2009, and the winner will be notified by June 30, 2009.

 

5.   The Alabama Renaissance Faire retains the right to photograph and/or exhibit all entries.  Non-winners' work will

be returned on or before November 27, 2009. Artists may pick up their work on November 27, 2009. After this date, all entries not claimed will become property of the Alabama Renaissance Faire.

 

6.   A prize of $500 will be paid to the winner on receipt of camera-ready artwork or disk containing computer design due on July 17, 2009.

 

7.   A panel of judges will make the final determination of the winning entry based on artistic merit and suitability as a visual image for the Alabama Renaissance Faire.

PREPARATION OF ENTRIES

1.   The artist should submit a full-size, color comprehensive layout on a rigid board.  Artists who design their entries

on computer may submit a reduced version of their artwork. The winner will be required to prepare final artwork.

2.  Poster size is 18" x 24" in a full bleed; two, three or four colors (spot color/tints only)

3.  The poster theme should reflect the Medieval/Renaissance era.

4.  The following information must be included in the poster design:

a.  The Faire’s name: Alabama Renaissance Faire b.  Date of the Faire: October 24-25, 2009

c.  The place: Florence, Alabama

5.  Poster designs may be produced in any media suitable for spot color reproduction

 

 

 

STATEMENT OF RIGHTS

The Alabama Renaissance Faire retains the right to photograph and/or exhibit all entries.  Non-winners' works will be returned on/or before November 27, 2009. The winning artist releases all rights to the Alabama Renaissance Faire.

 

CARE OF ENTRIES

Every precaution will be taken in handling entries, but the Alabama Renaissance Faire assumes no responsibility for

loss or damage.  The Alabama Renaissance Faire reserves the right to reproduce any work accepted in the competition

for publicity purposes.

 

DELIVERY AND PICK UP

Hand deliveries will be accepted May 15, 2009, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the office of the Florence

City Schools, 541 Riverview Drive, Florence, Alabama.
